If you feel you may have hearing difficulties, please take a moment to answer these questions. These questions are about your normal everyday life.

  1. Do people seem to mumble or speak in a softer voice than they used to?
  2. Do you feel tired or irritable after a long conversation?
  3. Do you sometimes miss key words in a sentence, or frequently need to ask people to repeat what they have said?
  4. When you are in a group or a crowded setting, do you have difficulty following what others are saying?
  5. When you are socializing with other people, does background noise bother you?
  6. Do you often need to turn up the volume on your TV or radio?
  7. Do you have difficulty hearing the alarm clock or telephone ring?
  8. Is carrying on a telephone conversation difficult or perhaps frustrating?
  9. Has someone close to you mentioned that you might have a problem with your hearing?

If you have answered yes to any of the above questions, please consider meeting with Moore Hearing Aid Center to determine if a hearing aid can help you feel good about hearing better.

Assistive Listening Devices

Moore Hearing Aid Center also provides Assistive Listening Devices. Assistive listening devices provide additional technology to help people achieve effective communication. Some people may experience trouble in noisy surroundings, during telephone conversations, at a movie or at a family gathering. A person may not be able to hear a knock at the door, a fire alarm within their home or even their name being called for a dinner reservation.

Assistive listening devices complement the use of hearing aids by helping to improve face to face communication by reception of electronic media, telephone reception and enhancement of surrounding sounds and signals. Auditory assistive listening devices are simply “binoculars for the ears.” A remote microphone or loudspeaker is placed next to the user or it may be directly connected to the TV or radio. This device brings the sound closer to the ear before it has the opportunity to be mixed with noise.
